Ben Franklin is known, among other things, for his wit and wisdom. He published an almanac annually for 25 years and scattered proverbs or short sayings that spoke the truth, throughout the almanac.

4. Create a thematic map of the 13 colonies and their economy. (Economy in this case, how did they use the land to survive and many a living.) Label the 13 colonies, Label the regions of Northern, Southern, and Middle Colonies. Show each region's economy on the map. Refer to the tutorial slides #9-20
5. Eliza Lucas - Eliza Lucas Pinckney was a South Carolina planter who introduced the indigo plant to the colonies in 1739. Within 10 years, South Carolina planters were exporting thousands of pounds of indigo each year. Eventually, indigo became the fifth-largest colonial export. Create a podcast, You Tube video or poster telling her story and the story of Indigo in the Americas.
6. Travel Brochure- Using a blank piece of paper create a travel brochure of the colony of your choice. The travel brochure can be written from the perspective of then or now, however, the main focus must be on historical information. The brochure should:
- include thorough information about the colony: its founder(s), important historical events that took place, important people who lived there, historical buildings, what life was like in the colony, etc.
- include drawings, pictures, maps, bullet points or other visually pleasing elements.
- be neat.
- be engaging for your reader.

2. Create a Colonial America Unit review game to play with the class or with a small group.
3. Create a chart or a map showing the 13 colonies, who started the colony, when it was established, it's contribution to the economy (agriculture, shipping, fishing, ect.) and an interesting fact. Shade each region a different color (New England, Middle, and Southern). Find 2 battles of the French and Indian war and label them on the map. Be able to explain to Mrs. Mebius why these 2 battle were important enough to include on the map. Make your "interesting facts" about the southern colonies be about slavery. Finally label a North Eastern Woodlands American Indian Tribe and a Southeastern American Indian Tribe on the map.
